Winter advice

The snow's arrived (and gone, and come back again!). For advice on driving in winter conditions please click here. For advice on staying safe when skiing or snowboarding please visit www.ski-injury.com, written by Dr Mike.

Flu immunisation clinics

If you have still not received your immunisation then its still not too late! Please contact us as soon as possible to arrange an appointment for your vaccination.

Text messaging service

We are delighted that we now have the ability to send free text message reminders for all booked appointments!

We would encourage all patients to ensure that we have their correct mobile numbers so that everybody can benfit from this free service. Please get in touch with our reception team at any time and provide us with an up to date mobile number.

Dr Appleby on sabbatical leave

Dr Appleby is currently on a six month absence from the practice in order to work overseas and do some travelling. He returns (hopefully!) in April 2012. His absence is being covered by Dr Fiona Watt, who completed her GP training with us and who is known to most of our patients. We wish Al and his family safe travels

Advice for holiday-makers

Aviemore is often busy with holiday makers. For information on common problems for people on vacation and the assistance we can offer, please visit this page.

Secure prescriptions

Our secure online Prescription ordering system is now operational. For data security reasons, we now no longer accept direct emails for prescription requests, as these are unsecured. Please use the secure form. Thank you.

New school building

As many of our patients will be aware, the construction of the new Aviemore Primary School continues on the site of the old playing fields behind the surgery. We are working with the contractors to ensure that disruption to the surgery is kept to a minimum. If you experience any problems relating to the construction work and your use of our facilities, then please speak to Iain Gray, our Business Manager.

Doctors In Training

Dr Michelle Mehers joins us on February 1st as our new ST1 replacing Dr Zoe Anderson who is moving to the delights of the orkney Isles. We wish Zoe well and thank her for all her hard work at the practice over the last few months. Dr Ele Ragg continues her GP training with us in 2012.

Medical Student Placements

Andy Findlay is currently on attachment with Dr Langran to the CairnGorm Ski Patrol doing a project on pain management for injured skiers and snowboarders. He is with us until mid March but will be spending most of his time up at the ski area.

We have been active in medical student teaching now for 12 years and wish to acknowledge the ongoing support from our patients in this training, which is crucial for training the doctors of the future. You can always opt to see a doctor or nurse on their own if you so wish without prejudicing your care.

Dr Langran is our medical student tutor.
